Refund Policy
Last updated: 2026-05-03
The short version
All sales are final, subject to your statutory consumer rights. We honor genuine duplicate charges, technical-failure non-deliveries, and any statutory guarantees in your country of purchase.
Why “all sales final”
At checkout you affirmatively consent to immediate digital delivery and (in the EU) waive your right of withdrawal under Article 16(m) of the Consumer Rights Directive. You also tick a box acknowledging this is a joke novelty product.
For digital novelty goods delivered immediately, refund-on-buyer’s-remorse is not standard. The whole product is the joke; refunding it would defeat it.
What we always honor
- Australian Consumer Law (ACCC) — if the certificate is not delivered, fails to match its description, or has a major fault, you have rights to a refund or replacement that cannot be excluded by these terms.
- UK Consumer Rights Act 2015 — statutory remedies for digital content that is not as described, not of satisfactory quality, or not fit for purpose remain available.
- US state consumer protection — rights under your state’s consumer protection statutes (e.g., California, New York) are unaffected.
- Genuine duplicate charges — if your card was charged twice for the same purchase, contact us and we will refund the duplicate within 5 business days.
- Technical-failure non-delivery — if you paid but no certificate ever arrived (after our reconciliation cron has had 24h to catch up), we will issue the certificate or refund.
- Wrong recipient (gift mode — future Phase 2) — in Phase 2, when we add gift mode, we will support a self-serve correction flow for typo’d recipient emails.
How to request a refund
- Email support first. Include the certificate number (printed on your cert) or the email address you used at checkout.
- We respond within 5 business days. Most issues are resolved in one round.
- If we can’t resolve it together, you remain free to pursue your statutory rights (chargeback, ombudsman, consumer tribunal). We won’t dispute legitimate chargebacks.
Refund mechanics
Refunds are processed back to the original payment method via our payment processor. Funds typically arrive in 5–10 business days depending on your bank.
When a certificate is refunded, its public URL returns HTTP 410 Gone with a revocation message. The certificate number is retained in our records (the public counter is unchanged) but the cert is no longer attributable to you.
This policy does not exclude statutory rights
Nothing in this policy purports to exclude or limit any consumer right that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
